UCLA Early Care and Education supports the recruitment and retention of UCLA faculty, staff, and students by providing families with center-based care and by providing child development information and child care resources. Faculty and staff applicants must be employed by UCLA. Faculty and staff applicants employed less than 50% time will remain on the applicant pool until those appointed 100% time have been served. Student applicants must be enrolled full time in undergraduate or graduate programs.
UCLA Early Care and Education services are now available to members of the community at large, UCLA faculty and staff grandparents, emeriti, other faculty retirees, former staff, alumni, volunteers and UCLA Extension students are eligible for enrollment at the ECE University Village Center only.
How to Apply
To join our applicant pool, please print the Affiliated Applicant Pool Form OR Community Applicant Pool Form. Please complete the application and mail it to the address in the upper right hand corner of the application along with a $75 non-refundable processing fee. Checks are made payable to "UC Regents." UCLA does not accept cash or bank transfers. Applicants outside the U.S. can pay with a money order, bank check or traveler’s check issued in U.S. dollars from a bank with a U.S. branch such as Bank of America, Citibank or US Bank. Note: The $75 processing fee is waived for currently-enrolled student families.
A confirmation will be emailed to you when the application is processed. Please allow 2-3 weeks from the date we receive your application. New employees must include a copy of an offer letter from UCLA as proof of pending affiliation. UCLA alumni families must provide documentation – either a copy of a diploma from UCLA (excluding UCLA Extension), or a transcript showing a minimum of two years’ enrollment at UCLA – prior to a child’s enrollment in the program.
UCLA Student Families
New students must send a copy of their UCLA acceptance letter as proof of affiliation. The $75 application fee is waived for student families. Tuition assistance may be available. For more information, refer to Applicant Pool Form, Tuition Assistance. Please check the Tuition Assistance box at the bottom of the Affiliated Applicant Pool Form to indicate need. Termination of Enrollment
45 calendar days’ notice required for termination dates from October through May.
60 calendar days’ notice required for termination dates from June through September.
Parents are responsible for all tuition through the end of the 45-day or 60-day period. Termination notices are available at each center.
If, in the opinion of the director, the program is unable to meet the needs of your family, we reserve the right to give 30 days' notice of termination of services.
