Applicant Pool Forms, Fee Assistance
ECE Enrollment Update
At ECE we understand many families need child care during COVID-19. A separate application is required for each child. We genuinely want to serve new families. To be considered for any opening, you must register your child in an ECE applicant pool – Affiliated or Community. If you would like information about additional programs, please refer to the child care resources page or email [email protected] after January 2021 to inquire about Spring-Summer 2021 availability.
While new families are still welcome to apply, there are many unknowns due to the ever-changing path of the COVID-19 pandemic in the L.A. County area. In-person tours are temporarily suspended as we must limit all non-essential visitors to our centers.
Usually, during spring and summer we extend offers for summer and fall enrollment. We are acclimating to public health and safety directives including daily temperature checks and health screenings for all; social distancing; using PPE for staff and implementing new sanitization protocols. We are abiding by all new California State Licensing requirements. We follow guidelines from the County Los Angeles Department of Public Health, NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children), and the CDE (California Department of Education). These include limiting child capacities per classroom, opening fewer classrooms per location; and adjusting child-to-teacher ratios. In previous years, the highest turn-over seaons were summer and fall. That is not the case this year. The earliest new spaces are expected to be available in Spring 2021. Updates will be posted on this web site as more information is available.
Applicant Pool Forms
Join the ECE Affiliated Applicant Pool by completing either the Faculty-Staff Applicant Pool Form or Student Applicant Pool Form. To join the Non-Affiliated Applicant Pool complete the Community Applicant Pool Form and submit with an $85 non-refundable processing fee. Note: The $85 processing fee is waived for student families. A separate application is required for each child. A confirmation will be available upon completion of the online application.

Fees are based on the age of the child. Rates may change with 30-day advance notice. UCLA Early Care and Education offers only full-time child care.
If your child's birthdate falls on and after the 16th of the month when they turn 24 months and/or 36 months, then the younger age rate applies.
Annual fee rate increases are effective September 1, at an increase of approximately 3 percent. The new rates will be announced at least 30 days in advance, or once the budget is approved.
Student Family Fee Assistance
UCLA Early Care and Education provides child care fee assistance for families with at least one parent enrolled as a full-time UCLA student. In two-parent families, the second parent must work or also be enrolled in school in order to demonstrate need for care.
Please review CDE Assistance - Students. UCLA Early Care and Education* and the California Department of Education Child Development Division each provide some form of fee assistance.
We are sorry to report that due to COVID-19, the Early Care and Education Endowed Child Chair Scholarship program is on indefinite hold. Please check back periodically.
Effective immediately, all children enrolled at UCLA Early Care and Education are required to be current on all immunizations as outlined in the January 2016 State of California Department of Public Health "Parents' Guide to Immunizations Required for Child Care or Preschool" schedule IMM-222. Exceptions may be made based on written advice from the child's pediatrician.
